Jesse Buck BIO for YWN

About Jesse Buck :

Jesse Buck can be described as a Man with the heart of a Lion and a humble mind of integrity. He is a Facilitator with the Youth Wellness Network, a Teacher of Mindful Movement,Yoga & Meditation. One of his passions is Sound Healing where he uses Crystal Singing Bowls to Bring you into a deep state of relaxation. He has been on a personal journey of healing since leaving his competitive Junior Hockey Lifestyle in 2010, after suffering from many injuries. The20160920_111027se injuries drove him to dive deep into his own mental health and physical wellness through the teachings of Mindfulness and Yoga. During 2012 Jesse was working with The City of Toronto’s Youth in the Parks and Rec department where he could see his positive impact on the kids. During that summer, while working as a camp councillor, he saw how he was able lead by example and provide the kids with a great positive role model in his day to day interactions. During that summer he was given the chance to provide the campers with a weekly yoga meditation session. This had an even bigger impact in the kids and the parents would notice a definite shift in their interactions at home. This was a powerful experience that drove him to take his first Yoga Teacher Training at the Downward Dog Yoga Centre. Then another in 2015 at 80 Gladstone where he trained with Diane Bruni, Toronto’s Original Yoga Teacher.

Since then Jesse has continued his work with The City of Toronto but wanted to bring his tools, techniques and skills into Toronto’s schools. That was when he met Michael and the two of them have been working together ever since!

Why helping Youth is important to me :

Since I was young, I’ve always wanted to be a super hero and save the world. Through working with The City of Toronto’s Youth, I have seen the positive change that can happen when we put our selves out there and become selfless. I want to continue to be a positive influence and provide tools for growth for more youth. I am so grateful to be given the chance to share from my own experiences and support the youth in their individual and community growth. I hope to lead by example to bring more compassion and empowerment to our youth using all of the tools I have cultivated. Children are the future and I am so happy to be providing them with the opportunities and support that i wish i had at their age.
